Good news is on the horizon for families in the UK who would like to extend their current homes.
Under new planning laws just been passed which will come into effect by September 2020. Any homeowners that would like to build upwards on their houses will receive rapid approval under a planning new legislation. What this means is that homeowners with detached properties can expand their living space upwards, instead of going through the expensive process of moving to an alternative larger house. This will allow families to extend and provided additional space for their increasing families, such as elderly relatives or help younger generations that are finding it difficult to access the property ladder. This will also create a substantial amount of work for the building trade, just what is needed after the lockdown period and COVID-19.
